Scott, who could not wait to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers but wound up in the losing end of the AFC Championship match, insisted he owns the phrase via a trademark and he can’t wait to see how exactly profitable it is.
“It took on a life of its own,” Scott told ESPN Friday. “It really took off on ESPN, it took over on YouTube. My wife said, ‘You should trademark it.’
Scott added he realized the monetary essence of his phrase and insisted he seeks a share of the profits others derived out if it.
Once I started to hear people were trying to make T-shirts, Scott said to ESPN, ‘I tell you what, if anybody is going to benefit off ‘Can’t Wait’, it should be me.’ ”
Scott said he has yet to derive money out of “can’t wait”.
