The Brooklyn Nets beat New York Knicks in overtime of their first matchup this 2012-13 season. Brooklyn topped New York 96-89 on Monday night to tie their city rivals for first place.

Brook Lopez had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Deron Williams added 16 points and 14 assists as the Nets improved to 7-1 in their new home and tied the Knicks atop the Atlantic Division at 9-4.

Carmelo Anthony had 35 points and 13 rebounds. Tyson Chandler finished with 28 points and 10 boards.

Jason Kidd didn’t play due to back spasms.

Brooklyn meets New York again on Tues. Dec 11th in the Barclays Center.

Jay-Z and Beyonce were in attendance as expected.
