    they need to interview the record company execs the way their doing these folks in the video.........the biggest misconception about the commercialization of hip-hop is that is has something ( or anything to do) with the actual artists themselves..........the record company execs have made up their minds on what kind of musical content they want to hear from new hip-hop artists based on what they think will turn over the highest profit margin.............and that is based on what they think white males (who as of 2012 purchase 76% of all hip-hop records) will want to listen to.............they treat hip-hop as a business, not as an art form.............hip-hop artists at the national distribution level have the least amount of creative control of their music than in any other genre of music..........this is why the drastic and constant evolution hip-hop went through in the 1970s, 80's, and early 90's has come to a stand still............and until the major record companies go back to treating hip-hop as the art form it is rather than a business.......what you hear from "new" hip-hop artists is gonna be the same thing you've been hearing from most of em for the past 10-15 years............

    that's why i quit......still have the itch though
