Serving Central New Jersey, NJSOUTH BRUNSWICK NJ — South Brunswick police have released a surveillance photo of the enraged McDonald's customer who they say climbed through a drive-thru window and slapped a worker early Sunday morning.
Police say the man paid for a Filet-O-Fish sandwich at the first window of the restaurant, on Route 1 and Sand Hill Road, around 4:30 a.m. But he apparently thought he was waiting too long for his order and climbed through the pickup window, yelled at the employee and pushed him against the counter, police said.
The man then told the victim that he would be waiting for him, slapped him in the face and walked out of the store with the sandwich, Sgt. James Ryan said.
The employee was shaken up, but did not require first aid.
Police are still investigating the incident, Ryan said.
The incident was captured by surveillance cameras.
