Phoenix, AZ - Sheriff Joe Arpaio promised to treat rapper DMX just like any other prisoner, and on Sunday night he did just that. Earl Simmons, aka DMX, was placed into lockdown status for threatening to assault Sheriff's Detention Officers.
According to Sheriff Arpaio, Simmons refused to report for work when called upon by officers and became verbally abusive. Then later in the day, Simmons failed to report for his medication and told detention officers that he might assault somebody in order to get some respect. That's when Arpaio ordered that Simmons be put on lockdown and placed him on a special diet that is a form of bread and water.
"DMX will be treated like any other prisoner in my jail and I will not tolerate him threatening my staff", Arpaio said on Monday.
DMX was sentenced back in January to 90 days in jail and 18 months supervised probation for animal-cruelty, theft and drug charges.
