Reverend Run's son, Joseph "Jo Jo" Simmons, was released from jail Saturday (May 9) morning after beind arrested for possession of marijuana.
Jo Jo was released on his own recognizance less than 24 hours after his arrest, says the New York Daily News.
Officials say he was charged with two counts of possession of marijuana and a count of resisting arrest. A Manhattan judge reportedly decided to lighten the youngster's load by doing away with the originally reported charge of reckless endangerment, a felony.
In a recent post to her Twitter page, Jo Jo's sister Vanessa spoke on the incident writing it off as just a mistake.
"As Humans we all make mistakes," she wrote. "They make up your life lessons and experiences... Jojo is ok, he just made an oops... I'll update more on my thoughts later on my Global Grind blog."
As previously reported by Yo! Raps, Jo Jo was arrested after being caught buying marijuana from a drug dealer. When approached by officers, he reportedly attempted to escape and resisted arrest.
