Kanye West puts Nike on blast.
Now, Nike didn’t necessarily tell Kanye West, “what we’re trying to figure out is, how we could control you and control that.” But, Kanye West sure as hell made it known Nike ain’t support and back him like they could’ve. It’s another case of a corporation keeping a extraordinary intellectual and creative power on a leash… limiting his potential. They didn’t want to see him grow into a power to be reckoned with.
Focusing on his desire to expand beyond music, Kanye said creative black people are allowed their “best perspective on T-shirts. But if it’s anything else, your Truman Show boat is hitting the wall.”
“We’re making product with chitlins. T-SHIRTS! That’s the most we can make. T-SHIRTS! We can have our best perspective on t-shirts. But if it’s anything else, your “Truman Show” boat is hitting the wall.”
