Below is a letter from one of our loyal fans urging Olivia to find inspiration after watching Love & Hip-Hop season 2, episode 4.
1st off: Olivia, girl, your hair looks amazing! Hell, if music doesn’t work out, you can definitely be a 9-5 hair stylist!
Now back to business. Olivia, YOU ARE ACTUALLY GENUINELY LIKEABLE, unlike some other “celebs” and reality stars we know. U have the opportunity to be a force! But if you think “December” is the best you can do, you are mistaken love. You have confidence and an “it” factor. But honestly, you don’t know what to do with it. Yes its true, that you’re working hard — we see you! And, we also see that you want to be successful and given the credit that you feel you deserve — BADLY! Its almost painful to watch how unaware you are of what the problem is. Yandy tried to tell you, but I don’t think you were ready to listen. Your like the character on TV where the audience keeps yelling, “its right there!” Everyone else can see it, except you!
The public knows the industry is full of sh*t and we sense that there’s a lot of behind the scenes politics. That’s not your fault, and more importantly, its not your issue to fix. What is your ISSUE… is you, Olivia!!
Love, find yourself and sing about that, that’s your mission. When you do that, the people will have no choice but to feel you. On the show last night, you said, “people don’t know, how hard it is to write a song.” You’re right, we don’t, but we do know how hard it is to “pretend” to be yourself, instead of simply BEING yourself. And if your trying to derive emotion from this story about “your letter writing momma”, forget it. The game is only gonna get harder for you if you take that path and you’re going to push people further away instead of bringing them into you. Everybody didn’t have a f*ck’d up family life OKAY, we get that, and everyone’s mom isnt Frankie. But guess what? you have true-isms that are just as impactful to you as they are to them. Sing about what’s real to you! Take a trip and think about all its taken for you to get to the point where you are now. Go to Cali, go on the beach alone, and play the song “For real” by Amel Larrieux. Listen for two things: First, the passion she sings with. And secondly, the special place in her heart she goes to get inspiration for the words. Then, think about what’s real to you and sing about it!
You also said, “it’s hard when you’ve given it all!”
It ALL?!? Olivia everyday your living, is a day that you have been given and if you feel like you have trulely given it all, thats your 1st problem. Read, travel, babysit, stretch, visit a homeless shelter, learn that there is value in the world and a reason everyday that you breathe to live… and to give. Oliva, you are BLESSED with a platform which is something THOUSANDS of artists will NEVER get (HELL! sing about your gratitude for that).
Forgive 50 Cent and CLIVE for leaving you (song idea!) and thank them for giving you the EXPOSURE! Sing about you appreciation for your current manager — who’s taking food out his own mouth (and obviously drinking and losing sleep judging by those blood shot eyes in the car) because he believes in you (sing about his pain!) Olivia, work through your anger over mistreatment by the industry (song idea!) and bitterness for the wrong thats been done to you. Try to reach a space where you’re not allowing the pain to hold you down. Pick you’re head up, quit hunching and stick those implants out, cause that what you got them for! Let the world get to know OLIVIA… we’re waiting 🙂
