Oxygen cancels Shawty Lo’s ‘All My Babies’ Mamas’ under public pressure. (…we hope Shawty Lo still got compensated for this.)

According to The Daily Beast, the petition – which so far has accrued nearly 40,000 signatures – and the public’s outrage in general to a reality show following Shawty Lo and his 10 baby mamas, has forced Oxygen to can the show. Sources say that the network will be making a formal announcement shortly.

Although the petition gathered more than 40,000 signatures in 10 days, Oxygen originally defended their position to proceed with the show, saying that “it was not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society.’’

This can’t be life… rapper Carlos Walker, better known as Shawty Lo, will be starring in an upcoming reality show called ‘All My Babies Mamas’. The Show will air on Oxygen and will also star his TEN Babies Mamas! Oxygen released the following press statement below:

“Oxygen will give fans an intimate look at unconventional families with larger than life personalities and real emotional stakes,” says Cori Abraham, Senior Vice President of Development, Oxygen Media. “’All My Babies Mamas’ will be filled with outrageous and authentic over-the-top moments that our young, diverse female audience can tweet and gossip about.”
