First, Mack Maine uses the term “old head” to address Jay-Z… and he means “old head” literally — as in old man. Then, Mack takes Jay-Z’s infamous saying and uses it against him!

You can’t be the “Illest Motherf**ker Alive” without defending your title against a worthy challenger! Yes, we know Jay-Z has more money than Lil Wayne. And if numbers don’t lie, we also know Birdman’s money is “baby money” compared to Jay-Z’s bank account. But, what about a future face-off for the number one spot on Billboard 200? Who would land at the #1 spot if Jay-Z drops his upcoming untitled album (we’re gonna call it The Blueprint 4) against Lil Wayne’s next upcoming album (we know Lil Wayne prize stable albums are titled ‘Tha Carter’… so let’s go with ‘Tha Carter V’ — and, we don’t blame him… if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it)! What would be the outcome if this challenge occurred?
On his last two albums (The Blueprint 3 and Watch The Throne), Jay-Z boasted about having
11 consecutive (oops!) 12 consecutive number one albums!
I just got 10 #1 albums, maybe now 11

One accomplishment Lil Wayne has over Jay-Z is being inside the “Elite Platinum Club” — Albums That Sold 1 Million Copies in One Week! Jay-Z will probably never gain access into this prestigious million-plus copies sold in 1 week club. [Read more…]
Watch The Throne moving 436,000 copies its first week between the super power of Jay-Z and Kanye West isn’t “wowing” many online users… they’re waiting to see week 2.
Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Watch the Throne” arrives, as expected, at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 436,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. It’s the second-largest sales week of the year for an album, behind only the 1.1 million start of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
“Throne” was available exclusively through iTunes from Aug. 8-11 before going on sale at all digital and physical retailers on Friday, Aug. 12. SoundScan’s tracking week ended on Sunday, Aug. 14.
“Throne” sold 321,000 downloads, marking the second-largest digital week ever, behind only the 662,000 moved by “Born This Way” in its first week earlier this year. While SoundScan does not disclose retailer-specific sales figures, sources say “Throne” broke iTunes’ one-week sales record — with nearly 290,000 digital copies sold through the retailer.
“Throne” also earns Jay-Z his 12th No. 1 and West his fifth. For Jay, the achievement extends his record as the solo act with the most No. 1 albums in history. Only The Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more. – Billboard
