Comedian Chris Rock prepares for his Broadway debut in Stephen Adly Guirgis’ latest dark comedy The Motherf**cker With the Hat. Rock plays the AA sponsor of a recently paroled alcoholic (Bobby Cannavale) who is struggling to remain sober while maintaining the relationship with his long-time girlfriend (Elizabeth Rodriguez). When the unseen eponymous character, a ladies man, leaves his hat behind, havoc ensues as relationships are tested and moral ambiguities come to light.
Comedian Chris Rock used his quick wit to knock out the Blame Game skit on Kanye West latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
In this shifting landscape Mr. Rock had one very high-profile mainstream moment last year, a gloriously profane skit on “Blame Game,” from Kanye West’s album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
“I did that quicker than I read scripts that they offer me money to do,” he said. “I thank him so much it probably freaks him out. Especially at this late date, to get on something, the album of the moment, that stuff is priceless, you can’t put a price tag on that.”
“I felt invigorated by it,” he said. “I’ve still got my fastball.”
